Job summary

KLK OLEO in Malaysia's Klang Bukit Raja R&D centre is seeking a Researcher II to synthesize compounds, optimize routes, and support lead optimization.

You will purify multi-step products, document procedures, and collaborate with international teams, applying NMR and preparative chromatography.

Ph.D. or Master in Chemistry with 5+ years in synthetic organic chemistry; capable of designing scalable processes for commercial production.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master in Chemistry with minimum 5 years of relevant industry or academic experience.
• Life sciences graduates will not be considered.
• Strong knowledge of chemical reaction monitoring and purification techniques.
• Ability to design scalable synthesis routes for commercial production.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize compounds to support lead optimization and development programs.
• Develop and optimize synthetic methods for target molecules.
• Purify products from multi-step syntheses on milligram to gram scales.
• Prepare detailed reports and maintain records of procedures and results.
• Collaborate with international teams and communicate results clearly.
