Job summary

GT-MAX MOTORS (M) SDN BHD is seeking a proactive Research and Development Manager to identify new motorcycle spare parts aligned with market demand and trends. You will source overseas suppliers, participate in exhibitions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch new products.

The role requires strong negotiation, research and analytical skills, with willingness to travel overseas for sourcing, exhibitions and factory visits.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Engineering, Business or related field.
• Experience in motorcycle/automotive spare parts, R&D, product sourcing or product development preferred.
• Good knowledge and strong interest in motorcycles and spare parts.
• Experience dealing with overseas suppliers is an advantage.
• Able to communicate in Mandarin and English for overseas supplier communication.
• Willing to travel overseas frequently for sourcing, exhibitions and supplier/factory visits.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify new motorcycle spare parts based on market demand and trends.
• Source new products, manufacturers and suppliers from overseas markets.
• Attend overseas exhibitions, supplier visits and factory visits to explore new products and business opportunities.
• Compare OEM, competitor and supplier products in terms of quality, specifications and pricing.
• Develop new spare parts and product samples together with overseas suppliers.
• Conduct product measurement, fitment, functionality and quality testing.
• Negotiate product specifications, development requirements, pricing and MOQ with suppliers.
• Follow up on product samples, modifications and improvements before mass ordering.
• Continuously improve existing products in terms of quality, design and cost.
• Work closely with Purchasing, Spare Parts, Workshop and Sales teams for new product launches.
