Job summary

Press Metal is seeking a Research Analyst to support corporate investment projects and due diligence. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, with a focus on financial modelling and data analysis.

The role involves evaluating financial statements, preparing research papers, and collaborating with bankers, valuers and lawyers on corporate exercises. Travel and regional assignments are possible, and strong Excel/PowerPoint skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance / Accounting / Economics / Management.
• 1–3 years’ experience with data collection tools and strong financial modelling.
• Able to plan, organise, coordinate, multitask and prioritise under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Strong organisational, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to interact with people at all levels.
• Experience in handling corporate exercises is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• ACCA, CFA or CIMA are welcome as additional qualifications.
• Proficiency in Mandarin (written and spoken) is an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel and handle regional assignments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, evaluate and implement corporate proposals for investments, acquisitions, mergers or joint ventures.
• Analyze and assess financial statements and forecasts and interpret analyses.
• Assist in due diligence on corporate exercises/transactions.
• Conduct ad-hoc research on industry or new projects.
• Prepare board papers or research papers when required.
• Perform financial analysis and use modelling to evaluate investments.
• Assist in executing corporate exercises as planned and approved.
• Collaborate with bankers, valuers, lawyers and reporting accountants.
• Monitor progress and financial performance of investee companies.
• Undertake other tasks as assigned by superiors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze, evaluate and implement corporate proposals for new investments, acquisitions, mergers or joint ventures etc.
• Analyze and assess financial statements and forecasts/projections and able to interpret analysis constructively.
• Assist in financial and legal due diligence or verification exercise as required on any corporate exercise/ transactions undertaken.
• Ad-hoc research on industry/new projects.
• Prepare board or research paper, when required.
• Perform financial analysis and use financial modelling to evaluate for new investment and corporate exercises.
• Assist in executing all corporate exercises planner and approved.
• Work closely with professionals, including bankers, valuers, lawyers and reporting accountants on corporate exercises.
• Monitor progress and financial performance of investee companies on an ongoing basis.
• Undertake any other tasks/duties as and when assigned by Superior.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must at least possess a Bachelor Degree in Finance / Accounting/ Economics / Management and related field.
• At least 1-3 years’ experience with data collection tools and possess a strong financial modelling skill.
• Able to plan, organise, coordinate, multitask and prioritise assignments under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Possess good organizational, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to interact with people at all levels of the organization.
• Experience in handling corporate exercises will be added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Other Professional Qualification such as ACCA, CFA, CIMA is welcome.
• Proficiency in speaking Mandarin, read and write Chinese will be added advantage.
