First Circle is expanding its engineering leadership with a VP of Engineering to drive end-to-end technology strategy across fintech products in SE Asia. The role demands hands-on leadership, architectural excellence, and a track record of growing engineering teams during high growth.

You will own platform decisions, data infrastructure, and regulatory technology across markets, while building a high-performance, delivery-focused org.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering.
• Deep experience in financial technology (payments, lending, cards or core banking).
• Proven track record of solving hard technical problems personally.
• Experience hiring and retaining engineers.
• Able to explain technical complexity to executives, board and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering output end-to-end: system design, architecture, delivery velocity.
• Build and scale organization from 25+ to 100+ engineers, define career paths.
• Set domain boundaries, data modelling standards and integration patterns.
• Manage regulatory and licensing tech requirements across markets, incl. PCI-DSS.
• Oversee Azure platform, cloud cost, data infrastructure and AI-assisted strategy.
• Represent engineering to board, investors and regulators.
