Job summary

MVC Resources in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead engineering, DevOps and QA across locations. You will own the technical strategy, delivery, and platform reliability, ensuring security and data protection for clients across APAC.

You will define architecture, drive AI integration from concept to production, and partner with product management to align roadmaps with business goals.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering leadership with delivery outcomes across multiple teams.
• Experience building and leading engineering teams across locations with hiring and development.
• Ability to coordinate complex multi-team projects and report progress clearly.
• Strong track record in agile delivery focused on velocity and goals.
• Strong partnership with product management and clear communication across audiences.
• Experience managing relationships with external technology vendors and partners.
• Architecture and platform design across multiple markets from one codebase.
• Technical credibility and ability to work with AI tools, without daily production coding.
• AI and development lifecycle understanding: agentic coding and verification.
• Cloud depth across AWS, databases, deployment pipelines, and security.
• Security practice end to end from product security to threat management.
• Prioritising technical debt at an organizational level.

Responsibilities

• Set technical architecture and a sequenced engineering roadmap from platform priorities.
• Own delivery of committed scope across the team, allocating capacity and balancing scope, time and quality.
• Own cloud infrastructure and platform reliability: AWS architecture, database performance, deployment pipelines, and incident response.
• Own security and data protection: access control, vulnerability management, and data safety across markets.
• Set the direction on AI, from concept to production, in product and development.
• Define engineering standards: code quality, review gates, and debt management.
• Lead and grow the engineering, DevOps and QA teams, from hiring to performance.
• Act as the final technical decision-maker and shape team structure as the company grows.
