Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a SQL Engineer to work fully remotely on an hourly contractor basis. You will review AI-generated SQL queries, database designs, and data-processing logic, and generate high-quality reference solutions and explanations for complex data problems.

You will assess solutions for accuracy and clarity, identify errors in methodology, and write step-by-step explanations and model solutions demonstrating correct methods.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional SQL experience in production environments.
• Expert-level SQL including complex joins, window functions, and aggregations.
• Experience with database performance tuning and indexing strategies.
• Data warehouse design experience (star/snowflake schemas).
• ETL/ELT processes and cloud or on-prem data platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• C1 English proficiency for technical explanations.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI training content: create prompts and responses to guide AI learning.
• Optimize AI performance by evaluating AI responses for accuracy, fluency and relevance.
• Ensure model integrity by testing for inaccuracies or biases across use cases.
