Job summary

SME Careers is seeking a highly skilled C Engineer to work remotely on an hourly basis, reviewing AI-generated C code, low-level designs, and providing high-quality reference implementations with step-by-step reasoning for complex problems.

The candidate will assess accuracy, memory management, concurrency, and performance; conduct code reviews; and support model evaluation with clear technical explanations.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of production C experience.
• Expert-level C with memory management and low-level debugging.
• Systems programming knowledge: concurrency, operating systems, hardware interaction.
• Experience with build systems, compilers, linkers, debugging tools.
• Proficient in written and spoken English (C1).
• Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing safety/maintainability standards.
• Familiarity with version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with AI data training or evaluating AI-generated content is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: prompts and responses to guide AI learning.
• Optimize AI Performance: evaluate and rank AI responses for accuracy and relevance.
• Ensure Model Integrity: test models for inaccuracies, biases, and reliability.
