Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. is seeking a General and Operational Accounting Advisor to join our team remotely in Malaysia.

The role focuses on statutory bookkeeping, close processes, and coordinating with external auditors across European entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have 5–6+ years of accounting experience, strong English communication skills, and proficiency with SAP and SOX practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or professional qualification.
• 5–6+ years experience in accounting, preferably in an accounting firm and/or MNC.
• Experience with monthly accounting cycles and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and English.
• MS Office proficiency, especially Excel.
• SAP knowledge and SOX experience is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review high-risk journal entries and supporting documentation to ensure accurate reporting.
• Coordinate monthly/quarterly close activities and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage statutory bookkeeping for entities/countries assigned, primarily Europe.
• Collaborate with outsourced accounting firms and auditors to finalize FS on time.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members in accounting processes.
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and new accounting standards.
• Support internal and external audits and corporate income tax filings.
