Job summary

Siemens Energy in Malaysia is seeking a Sales Application Engineer to join our GRID Technology team in Asia Pacific. You will support RFQ responses, develop technical and commercial offers, and coordinate with regional supply chain to ensure compliant, competitive proposals.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, 3–5 years’ experience with quotations for service-based work, and proficiency with SAP and Salesforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience with a major electrical contractor and quotation preparation.
• Experience as a site/field service technical expert is beneficial.
• Knowledge of High Voltage transmission in Malaysia/Asia Pacific.
• Proficient with MS Office, SAP and Salesforce.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs and develop technical and commercial offers with OEM value.
• Lead cost integration and risk assessment before final pricing.
• Prepare tender documentation including BOMs, drawings, and QHSE docs.
• Coordinate RFQs with regional supply chain for compliant offers.
• Interface with operations, engineering and factories to optimize offerings.
• Identify cost and time-saving opportunities in proposal development.
• Support sales during promotions, site visits, negotiations and follow-ups.
• Manage orders and spare parts, liaising with factories and suppliers.
• Contribute to proposal library and go-to-market inputs.
• Investigate localization opportunities to grow the business.
