Job summary

Agilent Technologies, Inc. in Malaysia (Penang) is seeking a Demand Planning Data Scientist to build statistical models and deliver insights for demand forecasting, guiding inventory and supply plans.

You will partner with an IBP demand planner to generate reliable forecasts and coordinate demand reviews, enhancing customer experience. The role requires a degree in a data-focused field and 1–2+ years of data science experience, with expertise in predictive modeling, ML, and statistical analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Typically, at least 1-2+ years of experience in data science or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive knowledge in predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop Statistical Forecasts: Lead development and implementation of predictive models to forecast product orders across geographies.
• Assist Demand Planner(s) with Root Cause Analysis: Investigate metrics such as forecast accuracy, bias, and value add to identify issues.
• Evaluate IBP Deviations: Discuss and understand impact of IBP deviations on current month’s plan.
• Generate Analytical Insights: Theorize insights, design experiments to validate model performance and improve forecasting accuracy.
• Communicate Analytical Gains: Articulate benefits of productionizing statistical models to business functions.
• Create and Validate Statistical Models: Develop statistical models to test hypotheses and ensure productionization for regular use.
• Model Complex Organizational Problems: Use statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques to uncover insights.
• Identify Data Science Opportunities: Recognize problems benefiting from Data Scientist expertise and communicate findings.
