TELUS Digital AI Community is seeking an AI Speech & Audio Specialist to contribute to ASR, TTS, and voice AI development in a remote, contractor-based role. You will assess naturalness, timing, and pronunciation while refining audio data and tools across global projects.

Ideal candidates bring audio engineering and linguistics knowledge, plus experience with DAWs and audio restoration. Flexible, independent engagement may fit many time zones.

Qualifications

• Minimum one of the listed education tracks or professional experience in voice recording.
• Experience with professional audio tools and speech/language related domains.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated speech (TTS) for naturalness and pronunciation accuracy.
• Review and improve ASR outputs by identifying transcription issues and linguistic nuances.
• Perform audio editing tasks including segmentation, trimming, noise reduction, and quality enhancement.
• Analyze recordings using waveform/spectrogram tools to identify quality issues.
• Support creation and validation of high-quality speech datasets used for AI model training and evaluation.
• Review voice recordings for clarity, articulation, and technical quality.
• Perform audio quality checks including loudness, noise, clipping, and export specs.
• Support voice AI projects including TTS, ASR, voice generation and evaluation.
• Apply phonetics, linguistics, or audio engineering expertise to improve AI voice experiences.
