Job summary

Grab is seeking an experienced Controllership professional to lead regional accounting for Malaysia and Singapore entities, focusing on insurance accounting, regulatory reporting, and end-to-end controllership. The role partners with actuarial, regulatory compliance, and country teams to ensure accurate financials and compliant filings.

You will report to the Manager, Finance Controllership at Grab's Malaysia office in Petaling Jaya and drive governance, policy, and automation across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accountancy or related field; professional accounting qualification required
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, insurance sector preferred
• Experience with insurance regulatory reporting and statutory filings

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close for regional entities including Singapore and Malaysia entities
• Prepare statutory financial statements and coordinate with external auditors
• Maintain robust control environment with reconciliations and intercompany positions
• Act as regional insurance accounting SME (premium, claims, reinsurance, acquisition costs)
• Oversee regulatory returns and statutory filings in SG and Malaysia
• Advise markets on reporting requirements, regulatory considerations, and policy alignment
• Partner with actuarial, tax, treasury, and legal for financial insights
• Drive process improvements and automation in controllership
• Lead and develop country finance teams
• Contribute to special projects and system implementations
