We’re looking for a practical, commercially minded Regional HR Manager to lead day-to-day People operations across Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
This is not a purely administrative HR role.
You will be the person our Coaches and leaders turn to when they need clear, grounded guidance on performance, employee relations, probation, people processes, and difficult conversations. You will manage the daily operations of the regional HR team, keep core People processes moving, and make sure issues are addressed early, consistently, and with sound judgment.
You should be comfortable getting into the details when needed, while also being able to spot patterns, improve the way we work, and explain the "why" behind People decisions.
You will work closely with our Fractional Head of People, CEO's Office, Heads of Departments, Coaches, and regional HR team.
What you will do:
- Manage the regional HR team, including HR Generalists and HR operations support.
- Act as the day-to-day HR partner to Coaches and leaders across Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
- Guide and manage employee relations matters, including performance issues, misconduct, grievances, workplace conflicts, disciplinary matters, and terminations.
- Coach managers on handling difficult conversations, documentation, performance concerns, and employee-related decisions clearly and consistently.
- Ensure probation, performance management, and PIP processes are completed properly, on time, and with the right level of documentation.
- Oversee core employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, confirmation, changes in employment, transfers, exits, and employee records.
- Coordinate HRIS, benefits, statutory requirements, and People operations with country HR owners and relevant supporting teams.
- Maintain clear and practical HR policies, templates, trackers, documentation, and process guidance.
- Identify recurring People risks, capability gaps, and process failures, then propose practical solutions before they become bigger problems.
- Partner with senior leaders on People matters, balancing business needs, employee experience, and organisational risk.
- Support company-wide People priorities including Coach capability, employee communication, culture, and process improvement.
- Drive improvements to HR processes and policies that make the team faster, clearer, and more effective.
- Handle sensitive employee and business matters with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
How will you need to be:
To excel in this role, you should possess a strong combination of judgment, HR fundamentals, leadership skills, and commercial awareness:
- At least 7 years of experience in HR Management, HR Business Partnering, or a similar generalist role.
- At least 2 years of experience leading HR team members.
- Strong hands-on experience managing employee relations and performance matters in Malaysia, including failed probation, warnings, PIPs, disciplinary cases, terminations, and workplace conflicts.
- Strong working knowledge of Malaysian employment and labour practices.
- Experience managing or supporting employee relations cases involving external authorities such as JTKSM is a strong advantage.
- Experience supporting more than one country or working closely with regional HR teams. Exposure to Thailand and/or the Philippines is strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of the employee lifecycle, probation, performance management, PIPs, HRIS, policies, and HR documentation.
- Sound judgment and the ability to balance commercial reality, employee experience, consistency, and risk.
- The confidence to challenge, advise, and influence senior stakeholders when needed.
- Strong written and verbal English, with the ability to explain complex or sensitive matters clearly and thoughtfully.
- Strong relationship-building skills across different functions and levels of seniority.
- A practical, grounded, and approachable working style.
- The ability to work through ambiguity, shifting priorities, and changing business needs without waiting for perfect instructions.
- A problem-solving mindset with a track record of improving processes, policies, or ways of working.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- The ability to maintain strict privacy and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and business matters.
