Job summary

Businesslist is seeking a Regional Commercial Manager in Kuala Lumpur to lead regional technical sales across Asia Pacific, focusing on refinery, petrochemical, and energy projects. You will drive business growth, manage complex commercial negotiations, and collaborate with multiple disciplines to deliver client-focused solutions.

The role demands strong hunter mentality, deep industry knowledge, and ability to travel up to 50% across Asia Pacific. Mandarin and Malay language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with at least 10 years of industrial experience.
• Strong understanding of refining, petrochemical, energy, or renewable industries.
• Technical specialists with some years of sales or commercial experience are highly desirable.
• Proven ability to develop new business and manage complex commercial discussions.
• Commercially driven with a strong hunter mentality and consultative selling approach.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Experience working across Asia Pacific markets is advantageous.
• Comfortable with heavy regional travel, up to 50%.
• Additional language capabilities such as Mandarin and Malay would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sales and business development strategies across Southeast Asia.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across customer organizations.
• Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, and participate in industry conferences and events.
• Collaborate with technical, legal, and commercial teams to deliver customer solutions.
• Gather and share market intelligence, customer insights, and competitive information.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM updates, and pipeline reporting.
• Support the promotion of technology, equipment, consulting, and service offerings throughout the region.
