Job summary

Takeda in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Assistant Controller for the North Asia & Oceania cluster, based in our Kuala Lumpur office. You’ll link markets with the Global Finance CoE accounting teams and handle the preparation side of controllership for every legal entity in the cluster.

Your peer covers South East Asia, and the two of you back each other up. Responsibilities include month-end close, balance sheet review, IFRS/local GAAP statements, audits, internal controls, and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• ACCA/CIMA/CPA qualification preferred or in progress.
• IFRS and local GAAP review capability.
• Hands-on GL, month-end close and balance sheet review across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

• Support month-, quarter-, and year-end close with accurate general-ledger accounting.
• Prepare balance sheet review (BSR) and aged item follow-up for approv(al) by Controller.
• Prepare flux commentary and respond to challenges from central controlling teams.
• Journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and ownership documentation.
• Coordinate IFRS/local GAAP financial statements with auditors and management.
• Coordinate audit preparation and evidence collection with management and teams.
• Ensure internal controls and SOX compliance per central standards.
• Support statutory, management, and tax reporting requirements for entities.
• Assist with accounts receivable, bad debt provisions, and revenue related schedules.
• Act as liaison between markets and Global Finance CoE to resolve issues.
• Drive automation and AI-enabled controls in finance transformation.
