Job summary

Takeda Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Controller to support month-end close for multiple entities in the North Asia & Oceania cluster, based in Kuala Lumpur. You will liaise with Global Finance CoE and local finance teams, ensuring accurate financial statements and robust controls.

The role requires IFRS/local GAAP knowledge, 5+ years in controllership, and strong communication with leadership. Located in Kuala Lumpur with potential regional relocation support.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics with at least 5 years in controllership or related fields.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA) preferred or in progress.
• IFRS and local GAAP review capability.
• Hands-on GL, month-end close and balance sheet review across multiple entities.
• Experience with statutory reporting, audits, and management reporting.
• Experience with shared-service centers or multinational finance teams.
• Strong communication with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for assigned entities.
• Prepare balance sheet review and flux commentary for review by Controller.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals and reconciliations; input for manual entries.
• Coordinate audits with external and internal teams; support SOX and tax audits.
• Assist in statutory reporting and management reporting.
• Ensure adherence to group accounting policies and internal controls.
• Drive process improvements and automation in the finance function.
• Manage knowledge transfer and training for new locations.
