Job summary

Takeda's Global Finance CoE in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Assistant Controller for the North Asia & Oceania cluster. You will support month-end close, coordinate IFRS/local GAAP reporting, and act as the liaison between markets and CoE finance teams.

In this role you will prepare balance sheets, P&L commentary, audit evidence, and ensure SOX compliance, while partnering with FP&A, country finance, and operations to deliver reliable financial data.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Professional accounting, audit or finance qualification (ACCA / CIMA / CPA, etc.) preferred or in progress.
• Hands-on general ledger, month-end close and balance sheet review across multiple entities.
• Experience working with shared-service centers or cross-border finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for assigned entities.
• Prepare balance sheet review and flux commentary.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and ownership documentation.
• Coordinate audit preparation with external and internal auditors.
• Ensure internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Support statutory and management reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A and corporate functions to ensure reliable financial data.
