OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad is seeking an experienced reconciliation lead to supervise daily operations, ensure timely completion, and drive process improvements.

The role requires a degree or ACCA, extensive banking knowledge, and strong leadership. You will mentor staff, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure controls and regulatory compliance are maintained.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accountancy/Finance or ACCA; audit experience preferred.
  • Banking product knowledge or ~10 years banking experience an advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office; Excel emphasized.
  • Strong analytical and good communication skills.
  • Meticulous, motivated, focused, results-oriented; drive for excellence.
  • Must work during Malaysian public holidays (not SG holidays).
  • Experience supervising/leading a team in banking operations, reconciliation, finance, or related control function.
  • Demonstrates leadership, planning, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily reconciliation operations to meet BAU turnaround times.
  • Plan daily work, monitor items, ensure adequate coverage during peak periods.
  • Review results, ageing, and exceptions; ensure follow-up and closure.
  • Escalate operational issues; coordinate with Business Units for timely fixes.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and controls; support audits.
  • Coach and develop team members; share knowledge across the function.
  • Monitor performance and drive process improvements and automation.
  • Support projects, system enhancements, testing, and post-implementation tasks.
  • Provide regular updates to management on status, risks, and progress.
  • Assist with ad-hoc/administrative tasks as required.

Description
  • Lead and supervise the team in the daily reconciliation operations, ensuring timely completion in line with agreed BAU SLI turnaround times.
  • Plan and allocate daily work, monitor outstanding items and ensure adequate team coverage, including during peak periods and public holidays.
  • Review reconciliation results, ageing items and exceptions to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely follow‑up until closure.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for operational issues, control gaps and reconciliation outages, and coordinate timely resolution with Business Units and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures, reconciliation standards and internal controls, and support audit, risk and compliance reviews when required.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and on‑the‑job training to team members, and support capability development and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Monitor team performance and service delivery, identify recurring issues and drive process improvement, automation and efficiency initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support projects, system enhancements, testing, implementation and post‑conversion activities, including tracking deliverables and issues to completion.
  • Provide regular updates to management on operational status, key risks, ageing items, incidents and project progress.
  • Support in ad‑hoc /admin tasks assigned.
  • Possesses a Degree in Accountancy/Finance or ACCA, audit experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge on banking products or at least 10 year working experience in banking industry is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Ms Office Application, especially Excel
  • Strong Analytical Skill & Good communication skills
  • Meticulous, highly motivated, focused, results‑oriented, strong drive for excellence.
  • Required to work during MY public holidays which is not SG public holidays
  • Must have experience in supervising or leading a team within banking operations, reconciliation, finance or a related control function
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, planning, problem‑solving, stakeholder management and people development skills.
