Job summary

I Can Read Malaysia (Literacy Hub Sdn Bhd) is expanding its Learning Centre in Eco Botanic, Johor Bahru, seeking energetic teachers to deliver our English literacy program for ages 2.5 to 12. You will conduct assessments, lead engaging lessons, and maintain a nurturing classroom with strong parent communication.

Ideal candidates hold degree or diploma qualifications in education or language studies, with a passion for early childhood learning and at least two years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualifications, preferably in Teaching/Education/Early Childhood/Studies/English/English Literature or Linguistics
• Diploma-level qualifications must be in a relevant field such as Teaching/Education/Early Childhood Studies/English Language/English Literature or Linguistics
• English speaker with a universally recognizable accent and a strong command of the English Language
• Preferably at least two years of related teaching experience, or similar
• An enthusiasm for teaching young children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work well with co-teachers, and Learning Centre Management
• The ability to operate with a high level of integrity and professionalism
• Creating a conducive learning environment for students, safeguarding their wellbeing at all times

Responsibilities

• Teaching children aged 2.5 to 12 years old using the I Can Read system
• Conducting pre-reading, reading and comprehension instruction
• Conducting assessments for prospective students and monitoring progress
• Communicating with parents and updating progress and enrollment forms
• Maintaining classroom management and a positive learning environment
• Managing attendance, reports and open house events
• Assisting with centre events, training and daily operations
• Keeping classrooms tidy and stocked with materials
