Job summary

CHEC Construction (M) Sdn Bhd is hiring for a Welding Technician to perform thermite welding of railway rails in line with approved procedures and railway standards. You will inspect rails prior to welding, assist in setting welding parameters, and ensure weld quality by inspecting joints and addressing defects.

You will also maintain welding and preheating equipment, complete accurate records and comply with safety rules.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Welding Technology or related engineering field.
Fresh graduates encouraged to apply; internship/industrial training in railway welding is a plus.
Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Willing to learn and develop professional welding skills.
Willing to work outdoors, on shifts and at project sites.

Responsibilities

Carry out thermite welding of railway rails per approved procedures and standards.
Inspect rails before welding, verify rail type, condition, existing welds and location.
Assist in setting welding parameters and performing welding operations.
Inspect welded joints and help identify/rectify welding defects to ensure quality.
Maintain welding and preheating equipment; ensure good working condition.
Complete welding records, inspection logs and quality reports accurately.
Comply with safety procedures and railway welding standards.
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
