Job summary

MB Automation (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a mechanical design engineer to design and prototype mechanical assemblies, mock-ups, and components, while selecting drives, mechanisms, and advanced pneumatic systems. You will create and verify production documents, generate pneumatic diagram layouts, and manage technical change requests.

Strong SolidWorks CAD proficiency and CE/ISO knowledge are essential, with collaboration across electronics and software teams.

Qualifications

• CAD proficiency especially in SolidWorks.
• Good understanding of ISO standards; CE compliance knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong foundational knowledge of electrical and pneumatic drive systems.
• Ability to work across disciplines with electronics and software teams.
• Independent and able to handle tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype mechanical assemblies, mock-ups, and components.
• Calculate and select drives, mechanisms, and advanced pneumatic systems.
• Specify and procure standard and complex mechanical parts.
• Generate and verify production documents (drawings, BOMs, and work instructions).
• Create layouts for pneumatic circuit diagrams.
• Manage updates for technical change requests and error reports.
• Lead small-scale development projects from concept to completion.
• Conduct safety assessments and hazard analyses following CE requirements.
• Define parts lists for machine spares and wear items.
