Job summary

PilotWorks-IAS Sdn Bhd is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop SP machines and automation systems. You will create 3D models, layouts and fabrication drawings, choosing appropriate components and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 1–2 years of relevant experience, proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and the ability to read drawings. A hands-on approach will be welcomed through assembly, testing and commissioning phases.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in mechanical design, automation or SP machinery.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar 3D CAD software.
• Good understanding of mechanical mechanisms and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and prepare mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of machining, sheet metal and fabrication processes is a plus.
• Hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and in a project team; willing to assist assembly and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design customised automation & special-purpose machines.
• Develop 3D models, machine layouts and fabrication drawings.
• Design machine mechanisms, jigs, fixtures, tooling, conveyors & material handling systems.
• Select mechanical components such as cylinders, actuators, motors, bearings, etc.
• Prepare BOM and fabrication drawings.
• Work with electrical, PLC, software and project teams.
• Liaise with machining and fabrication vendors.
• Support machine assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
• Modify and improve machine designs based on performance and customer requirements.
