Hovid Bhd in Malaysia seeks an R&D Executive (Analytical) to develop, validate and transfer analytical test methods for pharmaceutical products. You will support regulatory responses, nitrosamine method work, and method-implementation projects while coordinating resources and timelines.

The role requires a chemistry degree and 2–3 years’ experience in analytical method development with hands-on instrument knowledge (HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, UV).

The R&D Executive (Analytical) develops, validates, verifies, troubleshoots, documents, and transfers analytical test methods for pharmaceutical products. The role supports regulatory responses, additional testing requirements, forced degradation studies, nitrosamine-related method implementation, analytical task planning, and team competency within the Analytical Development Section.

Key responsibilities

Attend to analytical method-development requests for new finished products.

Conduct literature and compendial searches and coordinate the sourcing of standards, reagents, columns, accessories, and other resources required for new methods.

Develop, validate, and verify analytical test methods in accordance with approved protocols and applicable requirements.

Review and update analytical methods based on current pharmacopoeial monographs or Drug Master Files.

Ensure approved analytical methods are transferred to the relevant departments within agreed timelines.

Assess and implement additional test parameters in existing product specifications where required.

Provide technical support in troubleshooting analytical methods and resolving method-performance issues.

Manage the development, validation, and verification of test methods for nitrosamine-related analysis in dosage products.

Prepare technical responses to regulatory enquiries related to analytical methods.

Prioritize and schedule analytical activities based on technical feasibility, available resources, and project timelines.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related Science discipline.

2 to 3 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical analytical method development, validation or verification, and laboratory technical support.

Practical experience operating analytical instruments, including HPLC, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, and UV spectroscopy.

Knowledge of analytical or laboratory systems such as Caliber, LIMS, and SAP.

Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical-documentation skills.

Ability to work independently, manage assigned priorities, and collaborate effectively within a project team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate analytical work.

Systematic approach to method development, troubleshooting, and documentation.

Ability to organize multiple analytical activities against project timelines.
