Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking an experienced R&D EOL Process Development Engineer / Senior Engineer to drive process characterisation and optimisation for new package development.

The role focuses on End-of-Line assembly, Trim & Form and Dejunk, with emphasis on root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful NPI and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Materials Science or related engineering discipline.
• Experience: minimum 2 years in semiconductor manufacturing, preferably backend assembly or EOL processes.
• Hands-on experience in Trim & Form or Dejunk is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor process development, equipment capabilities and process optimisation.
• Experience in statistical analysis, DOE and systematic problem-solving methodologies.
• Familiarity with RCA, 8D, FTA, Why-Why Analysis and process improvement techniques.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Minitab, JMP or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead process and material characterisation activities, including DOE and process window optimisation, to establish robust manufacturing parameters.
• Support new semiconductor package development by evaluating process capabilities and providing technical recommendations during design reviews.
• Develop, optimise and qualify End-of-Line (EOL) assembly processes, particularly Trim & Form and Dejunk.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve process-related issues during development and qualification stages.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Package Development, Project Management and Production, to ensure successful NPI execution.
• Develop and maintain process specifications, SOPs, work instructions, FMEA and control plans for new product introductions.
• Support the transition of newly developed packages into mass production, ensuring process stability, quality and manufacturing readiness.
