Job summary

enGreen Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Research and Development Chemist to drive R&D testing for cooling tower and water treatment products. You will sign off on test reports and prepare detailed lab and R&D documentation for management review.

The role requires a strong chemistry background, hands-on lab testing, and effective technical communication with cross‑functional teams in Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry or related field is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required.
• Proven experience in laboratory R&D and lab report signing.
• Hands-on experience with water treatment chemical testing.
• Experience writing test reports and knowledge of GLP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D testing on cooling tower and related water treatment chemicals.
• Test chilled water treatment chemicals and inhibitors.
• Evaluate and test new biocides for product improvement.
• Carry out trials to improve scale and pH control performance.

Job description

This role involves conducting research and development and laboratory testing on water treatment chemicals, including cooling tower inhibitors, chilled water treatment chemicals, and biocides. You will evaluate new products, analyse test results, prepare detailed lab and R&D reports, and serve as an authorised signatory for test reports. The position requires technical communication with sales, service, and management teams, alongside ensuring compliance with lab safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

Conduct R&D testing on cooling tower chemicals, including phosphate-based inhibitors

Test chilled water treatment chemicals, including nitrite and molybdate-based inhibitors

Evaluate and test new biocides for product improvement

Carry out trials to improve scale control and pH control performance

Analyse test results and recommend formulation or dosage improvements

Compare the performance of new and existing products

Prepare accurate, well-structured lab reports and R&D reports

Review, verify, and sign test reports as the authorised signatory

Follow standard test methods and lab SOPs

Provide technical input to the sales and service teams and to management

About you

Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry

Proven experience in laboratory R&D, lab report writing, and signing off test reports

Hands-on experience with water treatment chemical testing
