Job summary

Koon Seng Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced R&D professional in Johor to design and develop new latex and nitrile glove products, from lab scale to pilot runs. The role focuses on value-added research, process improvements, and raw material evaluation within a polymer manufacturing context.

The ideal candidate holds a science degree with 3–5 years in glove R&D, is skilled in formulation, process development, and lab testing, and can support validation and documentation under ISO 13485 and GLP

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Science & Chemistry or related field.
• Strong R&D experience in latex, nitrile, rubber, or polymer industry.
• Experience in glove formulation and process/product development.
• Hands-on development of new processes/products.
• Experience troubleshooting product issues with Production/QA/Lab.
• Familiar with laboratory testing methods and product testing.
• Support validation and revalidation processes.
• Strong project management skills including planning, execution and monitoring.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; able to read/write BM & English.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative products from lab scale to pilot run.
• Conduct R&D studies for value-added, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, or cost reduction.
• Research new/alternative raw materials for cost control and product improvement.
• Provide technical support on production processes, raw material analysis and quality troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Process Lab, Production, QA during mass trials and to achieve development goals.
• Prepare study reports, presentations and progress updates for reporting superiors.
• Maintain and properly utilize lab equipment.
• Involve validation on new processes/products.
• Assist in administrative duties of R&D Laboratory and Process Validation when PD Manager is absent.
• Seek guidance from Top Management when decisions are pending.

Job description

Design and develop new innovative products to create new market trends and demand, manage product development from lab scale to pilot run.

Conduct R&D study on existing process / products for value-added, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, or cost reduction.

Research and development on new and / or alternative raw material (Chemical, Hand Former, etc.) for cost control, plant economies and for the purpose of creating new products / or improving existing products.

Offer technical support on the production process, raw material analysis, quality troubleshooting, and customer inquiries.

Work closely with Process Lab / Production / QA during mass trial of new product / raw material and provide technical support to achieve the development goals.

Communicate effectively and regularly to reporting superiors on project progress, results and analysis in terms of complete study reports, presentations and meetings.

Ensure all lab equipment is well maintained and utilized properly.

Involving validation on new process / product.

Other job assigned by superior.

Responsible for supporting and assisting in all administrative duties of R&D Laboratory and Process Validation when PD Manager absent.

If she/he is unable to make decision, they may seek guidance from Top Management.

REQUIREMENTS:

Diploma / Degree holder in Science & Chemistry or related field.

Strong working experience in research and development or related fields. At least 3 – 5 years' experience in R&D / technical development within latex, nitrile, rubber, or polymer industry.

Experience in glove formulation and process / product development is highly preferred.

Hands on new development in process / product (new formulation, new material, new process).

Experience trouble shooting product issues with Production / QA / Lab.

Familiar with laboratory testing method and product testing.

Support validation and revalidation process.

Strong project management skills including planning, executing and monitoring projects.

Good interpersonal skills and communication skills. Able to read and write BM & English.

Able to lead, motivate and manage the team.

Strong technical skills, analytical skills and innovation.

Experience in an ISO 13485 and GLP will be advantage.

Strong reporting, data analysis, and documentation skills.

Able to work under pressure and tight timelines.
