Job summary

Ambu Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Product Assembly Supervisor and Trainer to support R&D, NPI, and manufacturing transfer in a medical device environment. You will lead ~50 operators, drive safety leadership, training effectiveness, and quality oversight across prototype, engineering, and validation builds.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing and 3–5 years of supervisory manufacturing experience, preferably in regulated sectors.

Qualifications

• Leadership, communication, coaching and problem-solving skills are required.
• Experience supervising assembly or production operators in manufacturing.
• Medical device manufacturing or other regulated industry experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise operators supporting R&D and NPI build activities.
• Manage manpower planning, attendance, overtime, and workforce allocation.
• Handle employee coaching, disciplinary matters, and operator well-being.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Train and certify operators on assembly processes, equipment operation, and work instructions.
• Maintain training records and competency matrices.
• Coach and develop operators to achieve high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Support prototype, engineering, and validation builds; ensure compliance with work instructions and processes; perform build verification and quality gate inspections.
