Job summary

Ambu is seeking an experienced Assembly Supervisor to lead a ~50-strong operator team supporting R&D, NPI, and manufacturing transfer activities in a medical device environment. You will oversee safety leadership, training, and build quality, ensuring compliant and efficient operations across prototype, engineering, and validation builds.

You will mentor operators, manage manpower planning, and drive continuous improvement in workmanship and process adherence within a dynamic R&D/NPI setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience managing assembly or production operators in a manufacturing environment.
• Medical device manufacturing or other regulated industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise operators supporting R&D and NPI build activities.
• Manage manpower planning, attendance, overtime, and workforce allocation.
• Handle employee coaching, disciplinary matters, and operator well-being.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with safety requirements.
• Train and certify operators on assembly processes, equipment operation, and work instructions.
• Maintain training records and competency matrices.
• Coach and develop operators to achieve high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Support prototype, engineering, and validation builds.
• Ensure compliance with approved work instructions and manufacturing processes.
• Perform build verification activities and quality gate inspections as required.
