Job summary

Exyte Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage pre- and post-contract administration for assigned projects. You will review specifications, quantities and costs, liaise with contractors and suppliers, and ensure compliance with contractual terms across project teams.

You will support Senior/Commercial Managers, foster strong relationships with clients and subcontractors, and help control project costs.

Responsibilities

• Follows up on pre- and post-contract administration of projects assigned.
• Reviews work specifications, take-off quantity, costing and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
• Understands contractual terms and ensures other stakeholders such as Project Team Members, Accounts and Finance comply with them.
• Assists Senior/Commercial Managers with daily commercial operations; coverage during their absence.
• Supports Project Team and builds good relationships with Project Managers, Clients, contractors and sub-contractors.
• Assists in resolving contractual and commercial issues with clients, contractors and suppliers.
• Coordinates procurement of materials and suppliers for projects within budget.
• Assists to evaluate bids from contractors/sub-contractors and recommends awards where appropriate.
• Monitors project costs and prepares cost reports on schedule and ad-hoc basis.
• Ensures cost control and that purchases are within budgets; prepares regular budget reporting.
• Negotiates with vendors for cost reductions in purchases.
• Verifies payments before the Company processes them.
• Monitors all payment collections.
• Performs closing of final accounts.
• Attends contract administration matters and maintains proper documentation.
• Attends site and other meetings as required.
• Assists in coaching and training junior Quantity Surveyors.

Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Follows up on the pre and post-contract administration of projects assigned;

Reviews work specifications, take-off quantity, costing and liaise with contractors and suppliers;

Understands the contractual terms and works to ensure that other stakeholders such as Project Team Members, Accounts and Finance understands and complies with the terms;

Assists the Senior/Commercial Managers with all daily commercial operations including coverage of duties in their absence;

Provides effective support to Project Team and establishing good working relationship with Project Managers, Clients, contractors and sub-contractors;

Assists in resolving contractual and commercial issues with clients, contractors and suppliers;

Co-ordinates the procurement of materials and suppliers for the projects and ensuring expenses within budget;

Assists to evaluate contractors and sub-contractors’ bids and recommends awards for contracts as appropriate;

Monitors closely the project costs and puts up project cost reports on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis;

Ensures effective cost control of projects and that all purchases are within budgets;

Puts up budget reporting on a regular basis;

Negotiates with vendors for cost reduction of purchases;

Verifies all payments are in order before payments by Company;

Monitors all payment collections;

Performs closing of final account;
