Job summary

Persatuan Mempertingkatkan Perdagangan Dan Ekonomi Malaysia-China is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support commercial, contractual and cost management of construction and infrastructure projects in Malaysia.

You will handle pre- and post-contract duties, prepare budgets, manage variations and final accounts, and coordinate with project teams to protect commercial interests while maintaining cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure or project-based contracting.
• Strong knowledge of QS practices, cost estimation, project costing, variations and final accounts.
• Familiar with construction contracts, BOQ, drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Excel and familiar with AutoCAD and other QS software.
• Good written and spoken English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Manage quantity surveying, commercial and contractual matters for assigned projects.
• Handle pre- and post-contract duties including quantity take-off and cost estimation.
• -review tender documents, BOQ and assist in quotations and tender submissions.
• Evaluate quotations from subcontractors and assist procurement and commercial management.
• Prepare budgets, monitor costs and produce cost reports.
• Carry out site measurements, valuations and progress claims.
• Prepare and submit variation claims with supporting documents.
• Assist in final account negotiation and settlement.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with project teams on costs and contracts.
• Identify and communicate potential commercial and cost risks.
