Job summary

IAQ Group in Malaysia is seeking engineers for EPCC projects across data centre, pharma, and industrial sectors. The role covers cost estimation, tendering, contracting, and project control, with emphasis on compliance with PAM/JKR/FIDIC standards.

You'll support tender and construction stages, ensure EHS alignment, and assist in final accounts and change management, working closely with senior managers to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Construction management/ Engineering or equivalent.

• Ability to prioritize and work under strict deadlines with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cost estimation at design review stages.
• Issue tender packages and addenda; participate in clarifications.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities and check price proposals.
• Support tender price rationalization and cost database development.
• Assist in construction stage: change orders, progress claims, EOT, and cost control.
• Assist in project closure and final account processes.

Job description

We're Hiring Engineers for Large-Scale Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) Projects.

We specialise in the design, construction, commissioning, or operation of Cleanroom Systems, Tool Hook-Up Systems, MEP Services, High and Low Voltage Electrical Systems, ACMV Systems, or Fire Protection Systems within Data Centre, EV Battery, Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical & Hospitals, District Cooling & Heating, Photovoltaics, and Food & Beverage environments.

Responsibilities: -

(a) General

Assist Senior Manager/Tender Team in executing commercial related business with good negotiation skills

Accountable for the quality, safety, health and environmental management and performance at the workplace and project site.

Advise on contract conditions and good in contract knowledge (e.g., PAM, JKR, FIDIC – common in Malaysia)

(b) Engineering Stage

Assist Senior Manager/Tender Team in cost estimation at each design review stage.

(c) Procurement Stage

Tender package issuance to bidders.

Addendum issuance to bidders.

Arrange tenderinterviewand clarificationsession

Ensure bidderscomply withcommercial terms of the contract

Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ)

Check price error and abnormalities in proposals submitted by bidders.

Bidder price comparison and developing cost database

Execute tender price rationalization exercises

Contract compilation and binding.

(d) Construction Stage

Support EHS operation.

Prepare Change Order and Variation Order documentation.

Execute progress claim procedure. Liaise with package owners in progress claim verification.

Support and preparation on Extension of Time (EOT)

Cost control and monitoring project spending vs budget and cash flow forecast

Execute goods import related matters such as tax exemption, custom clearance andforwarding arrangement.

(e) Project Closure

Assist Senior Manager/Project Manager in final account closure.

Requirements: -

Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Construction management/ Engineering or equivalent;

At least 3 years working experience in the construction industry;

Excellent knowledge and understanding in the various aspects of construction industry;

Familiar with engineering cost and industry standards;

Highly motivated with strong organizational and time management skills;

Able to prioritize and work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines;

Good attention to detail with high importance placed on accuracy;

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
