Job summary

PERUNDING UKUR BAHAN CGH in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Sri Petaling office as a full-time professional responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management across tender, pre-contract, and construction stages.

The role requires a degree/diploma in Quantity Surveying with 5+ years of relevant experience, strong contract knowledge (PAM/IEM), and proficiency in COST-X, BUILDSPACE, GLODON, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
• Proven expertise in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management of construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of contract management, including standard forms such as PAM and IEM contracts.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software including Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with construction estimating and measurement software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects at tender and pre-contract stages.
• Manage project costs throughout the construction phase, including cost control, variation management, and financial reporting.
• Conduct detailed measurements and valuations of completed work to ensure accurate payment claims.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts to clients and stakeholders.
• Analyze tender documents and prepare bills of quantities with precision and attention to detail.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to optimize project value.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and provide regular cost reports and forecasts.
• Advise project teams on cost implications of design changes, variations, and alternative solutions.
• Manage contractual claims and disputes, ensuring fair resolution and documentation.
• Maintain comprehensive project records, documentation, and cost data for future reference and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
