Job summary

Principle Perspective Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to protect project cost, contract accuracy, procurement value, and commercial control across civil, structural, and architectural scopes for industrial construction projects.

You will review tender documents, perform quantity take-offs, source quotations, manage claims and variations, and monitor costs against budget, ensuring proper commercial records before handover.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Experience in tender scope review and clarification.
• Ability to source, compare and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Experience in claims management and variation order documentation.
• Ability to maintain proper commercial records and communicate clearly with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and internal teams.
• Experience in cost monitoring and reporting.
• Knowledge of contract administration and commercial documentation.
• Ability to work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Purchasers and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and related documents to identify missing information, unclear scope, drawing conflicts, and BOQ discrepancies.
• Perform quantity take-offs for civil, structural, and architectural works and check quantities against drawings, BOQ, specifications, and site/project requirements.
• Source quotations from suitable suppliers and subcontractors and compile quotation comparisons for review.
• Assist in preparing tender documents, pricing schedules, and supporting information; check that tender submission items are complete before deadline.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals based on scope, price, terms, and project needs.
• Prepare and submit progress claims to clients and check subcontractor claims against work done, contract terms, and supporting documents.
• Identify potential variation orders from drawing changes, site instructions, scope changes, or additional works and compile supporting documents, cost breakdowns, records, photos, and relevant correspondence.
• Monitor project costs against budget, awarded amounts, claims, and expected final cost; prepare cost updates and highlight cost overruns or budget concerns early.
• Maintain proper commercial records for contracts, quotations, claims, VOs, LOIs, LOAs, and final accounts.
• Assist in preparing final accounts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers and ensure project commercial records are complete before handover or close-out.

Job description

The Quantity Surveyor protects project cost, contract accuracy, procurement value, and commercial control by ensuring all quantities, claims, variations, subcontractor costs, and tender scopes are properly reviewed, documented, and managed. This role supports both pre-contract and post-contract work across civil, structural, and architectural scopes for industrial construction projects.

Key responsibilities

Review tender drawings, specifications, BOQs, and related documents to identify missing information, unclear scope, drawing conflicts, and BOQ discrepancies

About you
