Job summary

Principle Perspective Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on M&E Site Supervisor to manage and supervise all on-site M&E works, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power, lighting and ELV systems. You will ensure installation, testing and commissioning align with drawings, specs and authority requirements for timely handover.

• Experience in on-site supervision, coordination and commissioning of M&E systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power, lighting, ELV).
• Knowledge of approved shop drawings, IFC drawings, specifications and authority requirements for M&E installations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily M&E installation works on site, including routing, sequencing, and work allocation for M&E subcontractors.
• Review M&E shop drawings for technical accuracy, spatial coordination, and compliance with designs before approval.
• Coordinate M&E routing and spatial layout to identify clashes and resolve issues before installation.
• Issue written work instructions to M&E subcontractors with scope, sequence, method, quality and safety controls.
• Prepare material approval submittals and track status to sign-off.
• Plan and conduct site inspections per ITP and record results.
• Raise NCRs for defects and specify corrective actions with deadlines.
• Prepare and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning checklists for M&E systems.
• Coordinate authority inspections and accompany inspectors on site.
• Record progress daily and prepare weekly updates for PM and Scheduler.

Job description

To manage and supervise all mechanical and electrical (M&E) works on site — covering HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power, lighting, and ELV systems — ensuring that installation, testing, and commissioning are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and authority requirements so that M&E systems are delivered on time and ready for handover.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and direct daily M&E installation works on site, including routing, sequencing, and work allocation for M&E subcontractors

Review M&E shop drawings submitted by subcontractors for technical accuracy, spatial coordination, and compliance with the consultant's design before forwarding for approval

Coordinate M&E routing and spatial layout across all systems to identify and resolve clashes with CSA elements and other M&E services before installation

Issue written work instructions to M&E subcontractors before each new installation activity begins, covering scope, sequence, method, quality requirements, and safety controls

Prepare and submit material approval submittals for all M&E equipment and materials, and track approval status through to consultant or client sign-off

Plan and conduct site inspections in accordance with the ITP for each M&E system and activity, and record inspection results on the prescribed forms

Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for any installation defect, incorrect material, or workmanship that does not meet standard, specifying the required corrective action and deadline

Prepare and execute the pre-commissioning and commissioning checklist for each M&E system — including continuity tests, pressure tests, flow balancing, functional checks, and integrated system tests

Coordinate authority inspection appointments (BOMBA, TNB, SYABAS, DOSH, etc.), prepare the required documentation and site conditions in advance, and accompany inspectors on site

Record actual M&E installation and commissioning progress daily by system and location, and prepare the weekly progress update for the Project Manager and Scheduler

About you

Experience in on-site supervision, coordination, and commissioning of M&E systems — HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power, lighting, and ELV

Knowledge of approved shop drawings, IFC drawings, specifications, and authority requirements for M&E installations

Ability to coordinate with M&E subcontractors, consultants, and relevant authorities

Capability to identify design gaps, drawing conflicts, and buildability issues in M&E scope early

Competency in QA/QC inspections, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) compliance, and NCR management

Ability to maintain high workmanship standards and reject installation that does not meet specification

Capability to plan and execute testing and commissioning programmes in the correct sequence

Ability to maintain complete and consistent M&E site records — daily diaries, inspection forms, test results, and as-built drawings
