Job summary

Woh Hup Group is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its contracting team for data centre projects in Johor. You will manage all commercial and contractual aspects from pre-contract to final accounts, ensuring cost control, value engineering and commercial success.

The role requires 3–8 years' QS experience with a main contractor, strong knowledge of contracts, cost reporting and claims, and the ability to coordinate with clients, consultants and site teams to mitigate commercial

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 3–8 years of Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.
• Experience delivering Data Centre, industrial, semiconductor, cleanroom, warehouse, or large-scale commercial projects is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and contract administration.
• Experience preparing cost reports, variation claims, and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
• Administer subcontractor procurement, tender evaluations, and contract awards.
• Prepare and evaluate subcontractor progress claims and payment certificates.
• Monitor project costs, cash flow, and budget performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare variation orders, EOT claims, and final accounts.
• Conduct cost analysis and provide regular commercial reports to project management.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams on commercial matters.
• Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
• Maintain accurate commercial documentation and project records.

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Data Centre Projects)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering large-scale Data Centre projects across Selangor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of the project from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–8 years of Quantity Surveying experience with a main contractor.
• Experience delivering Data Centre, industrial, semiconductor, cleanroom, warehouse, or large-scale commercial projects will be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and contract administration.
• Experience preparing cost reports, variation claims, and final accounts.
• Good understanding of Malaysian construction practices and contract forms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a project team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with fast-track or mission-critical projects.
• Familiarity with FIDIC, PAM, or other standard forms of contract.
• Knowledge of M&E packages and CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) works is an advantage.
