Job summary

Entegris Malaysia seeks a Quality Technician to calibrate and verify metrology equipment, perform dimensional inspections, and maintain traceable calibration records on the shop floor. The role requires GD&T knowledge and hands-on use of CMM/vision systems to support manufacturing quality control.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure product conformance, prepare measurement reports, and contribute to robust metrology practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gauges and indicators.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with metrology equipment calibration and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled calibrations, verifications, and preventive maintenance for metrology equipment.
• Perform dimensional inspections and generate measurement reports.
• Set up and operate CMM/vision systems per GD&T requirements.
• Maintain digital calibration records and asset traceability.
• Support MSA and basic SPC data collection.

TheQuality Technicianis responsible for the calibration, verification, and maintenance of measurement and test equipment (M&TE) to ensure accurate, reliable, and traceable measurements that support manufacturing and quality control. This role executes dimensional inspections, supports measurement requests from engineering and production, and maintains complete, audit-ready calibration records. TheQuality Technicianworks closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Incoming Inspection, and production teams to ensure product conformance and robust metrology practices on the shop floor.

What You’ll Do:

Execute scheduled calibrations, verifications, and preventive maintenance for metrology equipment.

Perform dimensional inspections and produce accurate, timely measurement reports.

Set up and operate CMM/vision systems and precision tools per GD&T requirements.

Maintain digital calibration records, equipment traceability, and asset status accuracy.

Support MSA (Gage R&R, Bias, Linearity, Stability) and basic SPC data collection.

Troubleshoot measurement issues and implement method/fixture improvements.

Assist audits with calibration/inspection documentation and technical explanations.

Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to meet build readiness and product quality goals.

What We Seek:

Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Precision, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology, or related technical discipline.

Hands-on experience with dimensional measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, gauge blocks).

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.

Understanding of calibration concepts (traceability, uncertainty basics, acceptance criteria).

Proficiency in producing clear measurement reports and maintaining meticulous records.

Strong attention to detail, ownership for accuracy, and disciplined work habits.

Effective communication and teamwork across engineering, quality, and operations.

Basic computer skills (Excel, calibration/asset systems, file management).

Experience operating/programming CMMs and/or optical/vision systems (e.g., PC‑DMIS, Calypso, MODUS, OGP, Keyence).

Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 environments and audit preparedness.

Working knowledge of MSA, SPC, and capability indices (Cp/Cpk).

Exposure to advanced metrology (surface roughness, form/contour, laser/3D scanning).

Ability to develop or improve measurement fixtures and probing strategies.

Experience in semiconductor, precision machining, medical devices, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing.

Basic statistical/data analysis skills (trend analysis, Pareto, stability checks).
