Job summary

Entegris Malaysia is seeking a Quality Technician III, APS to manage calibration, verification, and maintenance of metrology tools on the shop floor. You will execute dimensional inspections and prepare measurement reports to support manufacturing and quality control.

You will read drawings, apply GD&T, maintain traceable calibration records, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure product conformance and robust metrology practices.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Precision, Metrology or related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience with dimensional measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, gauge blocks).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Understanding of calibration concepts (traceability, uncertainty basics, acceptance criteria).
• Proficiency in producing clear measurement reports and maintaining meticulous records.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled calibrations, verifications, and preventive maintenance for metrology equipment.
• Perform dimensional inspections and produce accurate, timely measurement reports.
• Set up and operate CMM/vision systems and precision tools per GD&T requirements.
• Maintain digital calibration records, equipment traceability, and asset status accuracy.
• Support MSA (Gage R&R, Bias, Linearity, Stability) and basic SPC data collection.
• Troubleshoot measurement issues and implement method/fixture improvements.
• Assist audits with calibration/inspection documentation and technical explanations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production to meet build readiness and product quality goals.

Job Description

Quality Technician is responsible for the calibration, verification, and maintenance of measurement and test equipment (M&T) to ensure accurate, reliable, and traceable measurements that support manufacturing and quality control. This role executes dimensional inspections, supports measurement requests from engineering and production, and maintains complete, audit-ready calibration records. The Quality Technician works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Incoming Inspection, and production teams to ensure product conformance and robust metrology practices on the shop floor.

What We Seek

• Basic computer skills (Excel, calibration/asset systems, file management).

Outstanding Candidates Will Have

• Experience operating/programming CMMs and/or optical/vision systems (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MODUS, OGP, Keyence).
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 environments and audit preparedness.
• Working knowledge of MSA, SPC, and capability indices (Cp/Cpk).
• Exposure to advanced metrology (surface roughness, form/contour, laser/3D scanning).
• Ability to develop or improve measurement fixtures and probing strategies.
• Experience in semiconductor, precision machining, medical devices, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing.
• Basic statistical/data analysis skills (trend analysis, Pareto, stability checks).
