Global Technology Leader in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Quality Engineer for a dual SQE/PQE role, serving as a key liaison between suppliers, manufacturing and engineering teams.

This is a dual-function quality engineering role covering Supplier Quality (SQE) and Product Quality (PQE), serving as a key liaison between suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering teams. The role reports to the Supplier Quality Manager.
Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE)
Lead supplier audits, CAPA closure, and corrective action programs
Drive supplier qualification, performance monitoring (KPIs, scorecards), and continuous improvement
Develop PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC with suppliers
Support NPI readiness, product transfers, and change management
Manage incoming quality controls and containment strategies
Product Quality Engineering (PQE)
Lead cross-functional root cause investigations (8D, RCCA, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA, CAPA)
Analyze manufacturing, warranty, and field reliability data
Maintain quality KPIs, dashboards, and management reports
Drive improvements to SOPs, work instructions, and control plans
Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement
Support internal, supplier, and customer audits
Participate in NPI, engineering change, and manufacturing transfer activities
Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in SQE, PQE, Manufacturing Quality, or related quality discipline.
Experience in semiconductor equipment, capital equipment, precision manufacturing, electronics, or complex electromechanical products preferred.
Proven experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
Experience supporting NPI, product transfers, supplier qualification, and quality improvement programs.
Proficiency in 8D, CAPA, RCCA, FMEA, 5-Why, Fishbone Analysis.
Experience with SPC, MSA, Control Plans, and process capability studies.
Working knowledge of GD&T, inspection methods, metrology, and manufacturing processes.
ERP systems (SAP preferred); Minitab, Power BI, or equivalent.
ASQ certifications (CQE, CSQP, CMQ/OE, CQA) and/or Six Sigma GB/BB preferred.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
