Job summary

SFP Tech Holdings Berhad is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to manage supplier quality issues, drive CAPA, and support new product launches.

You will coordinate containment, corrective, and preventive actions with cross-functional teams, monitor FPY, scrap rates, and defect trends, and work with Purchasing, Engineering, and QA to improve supplier performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing or related field.
  • 2–3 years in manufacturing or supplier quality.
  • Experience in supplier quality management and supplier audits preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes.
  • Proficient with 8D, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, 5-Why, and Fishbone analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate containment, corrective, and preventive actions with cross-functional teams using quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Communicate with suppliers on quality issues, CAPA, and improvement plans, ensuring timely closure.
  • Support APQP and PPAP activities for new product launches, process changes, and engineering changes.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and key metrics (FPY, scrap rate, defect trends, supplier PPM).
  • Conduct and support supplier evaluation, qualification, and audits (system, process, product).
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, QA, and Customer Quality to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Liaise between internal departments and customers to clarify requirements and specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce defects and improve process capability.
  • Ensure supplier CAPA documentation is complete and verified for effectiveness.
  • Maintain quality records, audit findings, CAPA docs, and supplier performance data.

Job description

To ensure supplier quality performance meets customer and company requirements by managing supplier quality issues, driving corrective and preventive actions, supporting new product launches, and continuously improving supplier processes and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate containment, corrective, and preventive actions with cross-functional teams using quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with suppliers on quality issues, including CAPA and improvement plans, and ensure timely closure.
  • Support and participate in APQP and PPAP activities for new product launches, process changes, and engineering changes.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and key metrics, including First Pass Yield (FPY), scrap rate, defect trends, and supplier PPM.
  • Conduct and support supplier evaluation, qualification, and audits, including system, process, and product audits.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, QA, and Customer Quality teams to resolve quality issues and improve supplier performance.
  • Liaise between internal departments and customers to clarify product requirements, specifications, quality standards, and technical inquiries.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce defects, improve process capability, and enhance overall quality performance.
  • Ensure supplier corrective actions are properly documented, implemented, and verified for effectiveness.
  • Maintain relevant quality records, reports, audit findings, CAPA documentation, and supplier performance data.
Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, supplier quality, quality assurance, or a related role.
  • Experience in supplier quality management and supplier audits is preferred.
  • Good understanding of APQP and PPAP processes.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Ability to evaluate and qualify new suppliers and conduct system, process, and product audits.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Willingness to work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
