Quality Engineer

Fastrain; Seberang Perai; On-site; MYR 120,000 - 180,000; Full time

Job summary

Fastrain is seeking an experienced supplier quality engineer to strengthen relationships with suppliers and improve quality performance across the Fastrain supply base.

You will lead supplier assessments, drive quality initiatives, and coordinate with NPI and production to resolve issues while mentoring a team of engineers and IQC staff.

Qualifications

• BS/BE degree or higher.
• Minimum 7 years in manufacturing and quality assurance.
• Familiar with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, IATF16949.
• Hands-on IPC600, supplier audits, component knowledge.
• Experience in quality analysis, problem solving, and project management; First Article & process audits.
• IPC 600 knowledge certification (CIS/CIT) preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong leadership, self-motivation, and resilience under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for building strong relationships with monitoring and improving supplier quality performance.
• Primary focus on Fastrain supply base.
• Participate and support supplier assessment and qualification activity.
• Independently leads project/feature changes through release.
• Act as focal liaison between supplier and NPI activity and engineering changes.
• Focal liaison with production on supplier quality issues.
• Understand and address internal customer requirements proactively.
• Lead and mentor engineers, supervisors, technicians and IQC inspectors.
• Manage equipment and testers at IQC.
• Execute to department goals and strategy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Leading, mentoring new engineers, supervisors, technicians and IQC inspectors.

Managing equipment and tester at IQC.

Execute to Department Goals and Strategy.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

College degree and above; BS/BE degree.

7 years working experience in manufacturing & quality assurance.

Familiar with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, IATF16949.

Hands on IPC600, supplier audit, component knowledge.

Experience and hands on in quality analysis, problem solving, and project management, First Article and process audit.

Knowledge or certified in IPC 600 standard (CIS/CIT).

Working independently and with minimum supervisions.

Show strong leadership and self-driven motivation to achieve excellent result.
