Job summary

Vekan Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Engineer (Customer-Facing & Night Shift) to join our manufacturing operations in Port Klang, Selangor.

You will act as the frontline liaison for key customers during night hours, ensuring timely response, containment, and resolution of non-conformances while coordinating with internal teams. The role requires 3–5 years in QA/QC or manufacturing engineering, with strong knowledge of ISO standards and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control or manufacturing engineering
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF16949 and other quality standards
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Act as primary customer-facing technical contact during shift hours for all product quality concerns and escalations
• Explain technical issues, root causes, containment statuses, and interim actions to overseas and domestic customer engineering teams
• Log, track and provide shift handover summaries on open customer tickets and quality alerts
• Maintain an active presence on-site to respond to quality discrepancies
• Execute containment protocols including quarantine of non-conforming materials and halting line runs when necessary
• Initiate structured troubleshooting and temporary countermeasures to ensure delivery continuity
• Support preliminary root cause analysis (RCA) and draft incident reports (8D containment/D3, 5-Why)
• Conduct line audits, process checks, and inspections on critical manufacturing stations
• Coordinate with line supervisors, technicians, and engineers to implement line adjustments
• Ensure proper scrap labeling, non-conformance tagging, and traceability documentation across inventory and WIP

About the role

Vekan Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Engineer (Customer-Facing & Night Shift) to join our manufacturing operations team. This is a full-time position based in Port Klang, Selangor, where you will serve as the front-line technical and operational liaison for our key customers during night operating hours. You will be responsible for ensuring timely response, effective containment, and prompt resolution of product and process non-conformances, while maintaining close communication with customers and internal teams to ensure quality and production requirements are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

Act as the primary, customer-facing technical contact during shift hours for all product quality concerns and escalations.

Clearly explain technical issues, root causes, containment statuses, and interim actions to overseas and domestic customer engineering teams.

Log, track and provide shift handover summaries on open customer tickets and quality alerts.

Maintain an active presence on-site and in the office/production floor to respond immediately to quality discrepancies.

Execute rigorous containment protocols (quarantine suspected lots, sort/segregate non-conforming materials, halt line runs when necessary).

Initiate structured troubleshooting and temporary countermeasures to maintain delivery continuity while preventing defective parts from escaping to downstream processes or customers.

Support preliminary Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and draft initial incident reports (e.g.,8D Containment/D3 actions, 5-Why summaries).

Conduct line audits, process checks, and visual/dimensional inspections on critical manufacturing stations.

Coordinate with line supervisors, technicians, and engineering teams to implement immediate line adjustments.

Ensure proper scrap labeling, non-conformance tagging, and traceability documentation across all inventory and WIP.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience

3-5 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control or manufacturing engineering roles

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF16949 and other relevant quality management standards

Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Working Hours: 11:00 PM to 8:40 AM (Malaysia Time)
