Job summary

SMP MEDTECH Sdn Bhd in Nilai, Malaysia, invites a hands-on Quality Inspector to oversee raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods according to QC standards. This role actively maintains the quality management system, while proposing workflow and quality improvements.

Mandarin proficiency is required to collaborate with China HQ. Key duties include material and product inspection, defect reporting, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and defect tracking.

Qualifications

• Background in quality control (QC) or quality assurance (QA) or manufacturing inspection.
• Experience in medical devices or precision engineering is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SOPs, QC documents, and defect tracking.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to safely handle and operate technical inspection instruments.
• Mandarin proficiency to communicate with China HQ.

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials, in-process production, and new product samples.
• Maintain and supervise quality management systems.
• Propose workflow, equipment, and quality system improvements.
• Control quality of raw materials, purchased components, and finished goods.
• Perform regular quality checks on workshop operators and enforce inspection protocols.
• Compile ledger statistics on non-conforming products.
• Report batch quality defects to the Quality Manager.
• Review abnormal quality findings and track corrective actions.
• Escalate non-conformances to senior management for review.
• Maintain, audit, and supervise daily quality system operations.
• Inspect new product samples for technical specification compliance.
• Prepare and issue accurate sample inspection reports.
• Safely operate testing tools and laboratory instruments.

Job description

Hands-on inspection of raw materials, in-process production, and new product samples. Direct involvement in maintaining and supervising quality management systems. Empowered to propose workflow, equipment, and quality system improvements. Mandarin language proficiency required to communicate and collaborate directly with China HQ.

Key responsibilities

• Control the quality of raw materials, purchased components, and finished goods according to QC standard documentation
• Perform regular quality checks on workshop operators and strictly enforce product inspection protocols
• Compile ledger statistics on non-conforming products during manufacturing
• Immediately report batch quality defects and anomalies to the Quality Manager
• Review abnormal quality findings, propose corrective actions, and track defect resolution
• Escalate complex non-conformance issues outside standard scope to senior management for review
• Active participation in maintaining, auditing, and supervising daily quality system operations
• Inspect new product samples to verify technical specification compliance
• Prepare and issue accurate sample inspection reports
• Safely operate all testing tools, laboratory instruments, and inspection equipment
