Weng Meng Industries is seeking a QA/QC Supervisor to oversee inspection of incoming Oil Palm Trunks (OPT), monitor processing quality, and ensure compliance with specifications across production stages. Responsibilities include documentation, non-conforming material handling, and final product checks.
The role also entails supervising QA/QC inspectors, coordinating with Production and Purchasing, and supporting customer inspections and quality investigations to maintain traceability and safety
Inspect incoming Oil Palm Trunks (OPT) and verify quality, dimensions, freshness, species/source and physical condition.
Approve or reject materials based on established specifications.
Record inspection results and coordinate with Production and Purchasing on non-conforming materials.
Monitor quality throughout the production processes, including sawmill cutting, multi rip saw, OPT stacking, chemical treatment, AFD, resin impregnation, second drying, hot press, kiln drying and final sizing.
Ensure production processes and product dimensions comply with approved specifications and quality standards.
Monitor key parameters such as Moisture Content (MC), temperature, pressure, chemical/resin concentration and other relevant process conditions.
Conduct final inspection before product release and delivery.
Verify dimensions, Moisture Content, density, appearance, surface quality, colour consistency, labelling and packaging.
Identify and control defective or non-conforming products.
Maintain accurate QA/QC records, including inspection reports, MC and density records, NCR, CAR, calibration records, daily reports, customer complaints and rework records.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality issues.
Identify, segregate and report non-conforming materials or products.
Investigate root causes and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments.
Follow up and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Work closely with Production to reduce rejection, defects, rework and customer complaints.
Support improvement of production yield, recovery rate, process capability and product quality.
Assist in developing and standardizing quality inspection procedures and checkpoints.
Supervise and allocate daily work to QA/QC Inspectors.
Provide training, guidance and performance monitoring to ensure inspection activities are properly carried out.
Support customer inspections, product verification, sample approval and quality complaint investigations.
Monitor and coordinate the calibration and proper maintenance of QA/QC inspection equipment.
Ensure QA/QC activities comply with company safety requirements, PPE, 5S and housekeeping standards.
