Job summary

Zestron Precision Cleaning Malaysia is seeking a Lab Assistant to support quality control and analytics by performing tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products. This role reports to the QC Executive and emphasizes accuracy, organization, and adherence to safety protocols in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include sample preparation, equipment operation, and documentation, with opportunities to contribute to product development and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience or relevant coursework.
• Familiar with basic laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions precisely.
• Good communication in English and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Collect raw materials samples in-house or from warehouses and label them.
• Check incoming materials and warehouse jerry cans.
• Back up for production sample inspections when needed.
• Operate laboratory equipment (GC, FTIR, KF titrator, pH meter, refractometer).
• Prepare testing reports, CoA and related documents.
• Assist in chemical product development activities.

The Lab Assistant plays an important role in the quality control and analytics department, ensuring that ZESTRON’s products meet the highest quality standards. Various tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products are conducted under the supervision of QC Executive. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are essential aspects in performing routine laboratory procedures. Additionally, contributions to the overall efficiency of the QC laboratory are made through the organization of samples, equipment calibration, and adherence to strict safety protocols. This role presents an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment while making meaningful contributions to product quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Collect new raw materials’ samples in-house or from external warehouses and prepare labels.
• Check the incoming jerry cans at the internal/external warehouse.
• Act as a backup for production sample inspections when the QC Executive is unavailable or when requested, due to an increase in production activity.
• Operate inspection equipment such as GC, FTIR, KF titrator, pH meter, refractometer and others.
• Prepare testing reports, CoA and the necessary documentations.
• Assist in the chemical product development process, including mixing, inspection and transfer, as assigned.
• Prepare all related raw materials, packaging and equipment for chemical product development.
• Prepare samples for cleaning trials, such as printing and reflowing PCBs or lead frames with selected solder pastes.

Requirements

• Possess a Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of laboratory experience or coursework in chemistry or related fields is required for this position.
• Familiar with basic laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail and able to follow written instructions precisely.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal in English with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willing to learn and adapt to changing priorities and procedures.
• Possess a positive attitude and good initiative, energetic and self‑motivated.
