Job summary

QCDS ENGINEERING in Penang seeks an experienced QC Head to lead the Quality Control team, ensuring all manufactured parts meet customer requirements, drawings, and quality standards. The role requires strong CNC knowledge, GD&T, and expertise in dimensional inspection.

You will drive continuous improvement, handle customer complaints and NCRs, coordinate with production and suppliers, and maintain ISO 9001 documentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of CNC machining, dimensional inspection, GD&T, and quality management systems, with the ability to handle customer complaints and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the QC team to ensure product quality meets customer specifications.
• Oversee incoming material, in-process, and final inspections.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
• Ensure proper use of measuring instruments, including CMM, height gauges, micrometers, and vernier calipers.
• Handle customer complaints, non-conformance reports (NCR), and corrective actions.
• Conduct root cause analysis and prepare 8D reports, 5 Why analysis, and CAPA.
• Monitor product rejection rates and implement quality improvement activities.
• Maintain ISO 9001 quality management systems and inspection documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
• Manage customer and supplier quality audits.
• Train QC inspectors and ensure inspection procedures are followed.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of QC/QA experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in CNC machining or precision engineering is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and dimensional inspection.
• Experience using CMM and precision measuring instruments.
• Familiar with ISO 9001, 8D reports, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Proven experience leading and managing a QC team.
• Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience handling customer quality complaints and supplier quality issues.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes and machining defects.
• Experience with customer audits and continuous improvement projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and quality reporting.
