Job summary

Sprint Gate Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to lead quality assurance and control activities for EPC/EPCM projects.

The role covers interpretation of PQMS, PQP and ITPs, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications and client requirements across mechanical, electrical, piping, and related systems.

Qualifications

Job description

To execute and coordinate Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for EPC/EPCM engineering and construction projects undertaken by Sprint Gate Engineering Sdn. Bhd. The QA/QC Engineer supports implementation of the Project Quality Management System (PQMS), Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), approved drawings, specifications, client requirements and applicable engineering standards from engineering and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning and project handover. The role requires a working-level understanding across the project's multidisciplinary systems - mechanical (dry & wet), process piping, fire protection, electrical and special gas systems - sufficient to interpret approved drawings, specifications and ITPs and verify compliance during inspection.

Key responsibilities

Implement the approved PQMS, PQP, ITPs, quality procedures, inspection requirements and project quality objectives.

Perform QA/QC surveillance and verify that engineering, construction and installation works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and quality requirements.

Identify quality risks, defects and non-compliance and escalate significant or recurring issues to the Senior QA/QC Engineer / QA/QC Manager.

Execute QA/QC activities across applicable mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control, automation, piping, process utility, equipment installation and related engineering systems.

Verify construction and installation quality against approved project documents, client specifications, applicable codes and recognised engineering practices.

Prepare, review and maintain ITPs, inspection checklists, inspection requests, test records, material inspection records and quality dossiers within assigned responsibility.

Prepare and issue inspection/test reports promptly after every inspection or test carried out, and follow up with the client and consultant until final review, comments and approval are obtained and closed out.

Raise and administer Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for identified non-compliance and coordinate containment, corrective and preventive actions with relevant project parties.

Support Mechanical Completion, pre-commissioning, system commissioning, FAT, SAT and Integrated System Testing (IST) where applicable.

Participate in internal, external, client and supplier quality audits and support compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable project, client and engineering standards.

About you

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Approximately 3-5 years of relevant QA/QC, engineering or construction quality experience within EPC, EPCM, Design & Build, M&E, industrial or engineering projects, with exposure to mechanical (dry & wet), process piping, fire protection, electrical and/or special gas systems.

Working-level knowledge of Mechanical (Dry & Wet), Process (Dry & Wet), Fire Protection, Electrical and Special Gas System piping.

Knowledge of PQMS/PQP/ITP; inspection and testing; NCR/CAPA/root cause follow-up; engineering documentation; ISO 9001; client specifications; applicable engineering codes and standards.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project/document control systems; ability to maintain electronic quality records and reports.

Professional English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Able and willing to work at project sites and travel within Malaysia or overseas when required.

Valid CIDB construction personnel registration and applicable Malaysia site safety/competency requirements where required for site deployment.
