Job summary

Horiba Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quality Management professional to introduce, maintain, and continuously improve the QMS across the organization in collaboration with the Japan Quality Department and local teams.

The role covers change control, quality reporting, audit management, market quality issue handling, final inspection governance, and SPC as part of a comprehensive quality system. Strong communication with Japan HQ and internal departments is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
  • Understanding of change control processes and audit requirements.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and Japan HQ.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken English; Japanese language skills are an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain the change control process.
  • Manage change applications to customers.
  • Manage process-related change applications to Japan HQ.
  • Conduct change control education and awareness activities for relevant personnel.
  • Ensure proper documentation, approval, and traceability of all changes.
  • Report quality status and key quality indicators during quality meetings with the Japan Quality Department.
  • Prepare and submit quality-related reports to HMY upper management and Japan HQ as required.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits within HMY.
  • Coordinate and handle second-party audits (e.g., customer audits).
  • Coordinate and support third-party audits (e.g., certification bodies).
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified for audit findings.
  • Perform initial confirmation and assessment of market quality issues.
  • Handle replacement parts received from suppliers related to quality issues or nonconformities.
  • Manage returned defective or recall products, including coordination with Japan HQ and arrangement of substitute products for customers.
  • Investigate root causes and implement corrective and preventive countermeasures.
  • Report investigation results and countermeasures to customers, HMY management, and Japan HQ.
  • Conduct product inventory tracing related to market issues.
  • Monitor, analyze, and confirm trends of market quality issues and share findings with the Japan Quality Department.
  • Conduct education and training for Final Inspection personnel.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain Final Inspection qualification and competency records.
  • Ensure Final Inspection activities are performed by qualified personnel in accordance with approved standards and procedures.
  • Review and improve Final Inspection criteria and methods as necessary.
  • Implement and maintain SPC activities to monitor and control manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze SPC data to identify trends, abnormalities, and potential quality risks.
  • Support production and related departments in interpreting SPC results and implementing improvement actions.
  • Report SPC findings as part of quality performance monitoring.

Introduce, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).

Collaborate with cross-functional departments to develop, implement, and continuously improve an effective Quality Management System (QMS).

Develop, revise, and implement quality standards, procedures, and rules in cooperation with the Japan Quality Department.

Ensure QMS compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.

2. Change Control Management

Establish, implement, and maintain the change control process.
