ICE Holidays Sdn Bhd invites applications for a full-time, on-site QA Engineer (QA Lead) based in Malaysia. You will lead the QA function, overseeing testing strategies, UAT coordination, and release readiness across digital platforms and backend services.

You will supervise one part-time QA tester and collaborate with the Tech Lead and teams to ensure reliable performance and quality releases. The role requires minimum 4 years of QA experience, including leadership, strong manual testing,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Software QA experience, incl. 1+ year leading projects or releases.
• Hands-on manual web testing, test planning, case prep and defect reporting.
• Experience coordinating UAT with business users or external vendors.
• Knowledge of API testing (Postman), mobile testing (iOS/Android), and basic SQL.
• Familiar with Jira or GitHub Issues for defect tracking.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

About the role

The QA Engineer (QA Lead) will lead the Company's QA function, overseeing software quality, testing strategies, UAT coordination and release readiness across all digital platforms and backend services. As the Company's first dedicated full-time QA role, the position will initially supervise one part-time QA tester and work closely with the Tech Lead and relevant teams to ensure reliable system performance and quality releases.

Key responsibilities

Develop and implement testing strategies for the Company's web platform, mobile applications and backend services.

Manage release readiness, regression testing and quality approval processes.

Coordinate and monitor the testing activities of the part-time QA tester.

Plan and oversee UAT for internal developments and external partner deliverables.

Establish acceptance criteria, verify defect fixes and ensure quality standards are met.

Provide weekly testing progress and release updates to Product and Engineering teams.

Conduct end-to-end, API and mobile application testing across key booking and payment workflows.

Develop and enhance automated regression testing to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

Work closely with Product Managers and Developers to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria and resolve defects.

Identify and communicate potential quality risks to ensure timely resolution and successful releases.

About you

Minimum 4 years of Software QA experience, including at least 1 year leading project or release testing.

Strong hands-on experience in manual web testing, test planning, test case preparation and defect reporting.

Proven experience in coordinating and conducting UAT with business users or external vendors.

Practical knowledge of API testing (Postman), mobile testing (iOS/Android) and basic SQL.

Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira or GitHub Issues.

Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple testing activities.

Good judgement in assessing software quality and release readiness.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English & Malay.
