Job summary

Data Flows Sdn Bhd is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to design, implement, and maintain comprehensive testing processes ensuring reliable, secure, and high-quality software. You will collaborate with software development, project management, DevOps, and mobile teams to develop test plans, automate testing, and track defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• 1+ years of experience as a Software QA Engineer, or similar role, in an agile environment.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with manual and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement QA automation strategy and roadmap.
• Lead end-to-end testing across multiple projects.
• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers.
• Participate in requirement reviews to ensure testability.
• Establish QA best practices and quality standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks with Selenium/Cypress.
• Implement API automation using Postman.
• Develop reusable test libraries and utilities.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Azure DevOps).
• Ensure high test coverage and reduce regression risks.
• Oversee functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Review test cases and ensure proper documentation.
• Validate database integrity using SQL.
• Track and manage defects using Jira.
• Provide regular quality reports and metrics.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Quality Assurance Engineer to design, implement, and maintain comprehensive testing processes that ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality software. The successful candidate will collaborate with software development, project management, DevOps, and mobile application teams to develop test plans, automate testing, identify and track defects, improve software performance, and ensure applications meet functional and quality requirements before release.

Job Responsibilities

Define and implement QA automation strategy and roadmap

Lead end-to-end testing efforts across multiple projects

Mentor and guide junior QA engineers

Participate in requirement reviews to ensure testability

Establish QA best practices and quality standards

Automation Development

Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium or Cypress

Implement API automation using Postman or similar tools

Develop reusable test libraries and utilities

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins or Azure DevOps)

Ensure high test coverage and reduce regression risks

Manual & System Testing

Oversee functional, regression, integration, and system testing

Perform root cause analysis of defects

Review test cases and ensure proper documentation

Validate database integrity using SQL

Reporting & Quality Monitoring

Track and manage defects using tools like Jira

Provide regular quality reports and metrics to stakeholders

Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies

Job Requirement

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Experience: Proven experience (1+ years) as a Software QA Engineer, or a similar role, in an agile development environment.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

Testing Expertise: Experience with various types of testing, including manual and automated.

Automation Tools: Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.

Scripting/Programming: Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., PHP, Node.js, C#).

Databases: Experience with database testing, including writing SQL queries.

Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate defects and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
