Job summary

Knowles Electronics in Penang is seeking a senior QA professional to develop and execute quality plans, investigate non-conformances, lead 8D reports, perform FMEA, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing and supplier interfaces.

Requires at least a Bachelor's degree in Science and 8 years of QC experience in semiconductor/electronics with strong knowledge of QMS/EMS/OSH standards and internal audits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute quality plans, test procedures and inspection protocols for manufacturing processes.
• Investigate non-conforming products and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor outgoing quality and DPPM trends; drive continuous improvement to meet targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements for quality and yield.
• Lead 8D investigations for customer complaints and provide timely reports.
• Participate in FMEA activities to identify potential quality risks.
• Support internal audits to ensure QMS/EMS/OSH compliance and CAPA effectiveness.
• Provide training on quality procedures to QA and production personnel.
• Maintain and improve procedures aligned with QMS/EMS/OSH standards.
• Coordinate with other departments on customer complaints and inspection quality.
• Initiate containment actions when necessary (suspending deliveries).
• Ensure activities align with QMS/EMS/OSH standards and procedures.
• Mentor subordinates/contractors on quality standards as needed.
• Assist QA Manager with overarching quality assurance tasks.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and execute quality plans, test procedures and inspection protocols for manufacturing processes.
• Investigate and document non-conforming product occurrences, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor and analyze product performance at outgoing quality inspection gate such as monitoring of outgoing DPPM trend and driving for continuous improvement to achieve the target goal.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and yield.
• Work with the field and cross functional team for the investigation of customer complaint and provide the 8D report to our customer timely.
• Participate in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) activities to proactively identify potential quality risks.
• Support internal audit to ensure internal process quality control system compliance and corrective/ preventive action effectiveness.
• Provide technical support and training on quality procedures to quality and production personnel.
• Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and improving the procedures consistent with certification of QMS, EMS and OSH Management Systems/ Standards.
• Coordinates with other departments regarding customer complaints, quality of parts, inspection processes and product quality questions.
• Where deem necessary, initiate the defect containment activities through suspending the delivery/warehousing/production
• Establishing and maintaining procedures consistent with certification of QMS, EMS and OSH Management Systems/ Standards.
• Provides training for subordinates and contractors (if any), in line with QMS, EMS and OSH Management Systems/ Standards/ Procedures, where necessary.
• To carry out assignments and assist QA Manager and above in overall quality assurance activities as per required.
• To ensure that quality activities performed by incumbent and subordinates (if any) fall in line with QMS, EMS and OSH Management Systems/ Standards procedures.

Authorities:

• Product or material buyoff and release.
• Nonconformance products or material release upon MRB approval.
• Stop production and/or shipment.

Position Requirement

Education : Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Science or equivalent.

Experience : At least 8 years of working experience in the QC field at semiconductor/ electronic field.
